  1. 1-27-94                    FAX AutoAnswer
  2.  
  3.      Do NOT put any data software in Host mode or the software or modem  in
  4. AA  (autoanswer) mode. The FAX software tells the modem to answer when  the
  5. modem  sends  RING to the computer. You only have to have  the  fax  module
  6. loaded to receive the fax.  The AA led should be OFF, and blink ON when the
  7. phone  rings.  You can set the number of RINGs to answer in  the  software.
  8. Then  it will answer after X-RINGs if you are not there. If you answer  and
  9. you  hear  a FAX-beep you can use the manual-answer Hot-key to  answer  the
  10. fax.  See your manual for the answer Hot-key.

  12.      If  you  have it set and it doesn't answer, then try  going  into  any
  13. terminal  mode  (data  software) and see if the modem prints  RING  to  the
  14. screen  when the phone rings. If not, there may be too many devices on  the
  15. line, or a conflict preventing the message from getting to the 'screen'.

  17.      Fax driver (see software manual) must be loaded to recv a fax.
